The extension to the Motor Display Gallery is of a semi-circular form. It runs north from the existing north wall of the Gallery and takes the form of a planted terrace, the roof of which is 1.3m above natural ground level in the orchard. It is proposed to plant a semi-mature hedge in front of the new Cotswold stone wall. This will soften the appearance of the new wall and help the new terrace blend into the orchard landscape.
View from the Orchard Landscape
The visible terrace formed by the green roof of the extension follows these precedents and features a low rubble limestone wall on the semi-circular perimeter of the extension. It also includes a flight of semi-circular stone steps proving access to the terrace. Shown on this terrace is a low, circular stone wall, which provides an “eyecatcher” at the centre of the geometrical form of the extension. There is to be a gravel path connecting the stone steps to the well feature where is disposed a 4 metre skylight.

The materials and finishes where chosen to match the existing building. In this project I work closely with a team of specialist of Structural engineers, Drainage and Services. I was in charge of produce GA and AD drawings for the contractor as well as for the specialists. For this job I produce more than 1150 drawings.
