OLD Mill at ewen pens farm

This fine 2 storey former mill is now redundant.  Its size, form and fenestration lend themselves extremely well to create office and function space.  The total floor area is greater than is currently required by the Estate Office, and there is an opportunity to let some of the building as office space to third parties.  The building could be divided either vertically or horizontally. See initial outline concepts schemes A + B to illustrate how the building could be configured

Scheme B

A) The horizontal division, while entailing use of part of the ground floor by the Estate Office, would enable the Estate Office to take all of  the high quality space on the first floor.  This creates an open plan general office area, as well as a generous Board Room – which could be subdivided with moveable partitions into two or three smaller meeting rooms.  This horizontal arrangement would include partial use of the ground floor to accommodate a reception area and new staircase.

The upper floor with its exposed king post trusses and impressive roof structure will provide a stimulating environment for the new Estate Office as a whole, whilst the space surplus to immediate requirements will form high ceilinged and practical ground floor office space.

Scheme B

B) The vertical division would provide two suites of self contained offices on ground and first floors. This idea may be appropriate for longer term letting.
